MSDC Awards—Are You a Potential Award Winner?
 

Commissioner's Award of Excellence for Professional Development

The goal is to identify and honor high-quality district wide professional learning initiatives that are data-driven, job-embedded, and results-based. These programs will serve as comprehensive models for districts and buildings throughout the state. This award is based upon the level of alignment of district-wide professional development practices to the National Staff Development Council’s Professional Development Standards. 

The deadline for submitting applications is October 25, 2007

MSDC Vision Award

Recognizing that High Quality Professional Development requires meeting the NSDC professional development standards, MSDC will award instructional leaders who demonstrate leadership in the National Staff Development Council’s standards. An instructional leader is defined as anyone (teacher, staff developer, principal, superintendent) who has shown leadership qualities in guiding colleagues toward high quality professional development. 

The deadline for submitting applications is January 31, 2007.

High Quality PD Instructional Leadership Award

Recognizing that High Quality Professional Development requires meeting NSDC standards, MSDC will recognize a program or an initiative within a building or across the district in a grade level, content area, or vertical team which reflects all twelve of the National Staff Development Councils’ standards. 

The deadline for submitting applications is January 31, 2007.

High Quality Staff Development Program Award

This award is for an individual who exemplifies a vision of High Quality Professional Development that reflect the National Staff Development Standards and who has made significant contributions to professional staff development throughout his or her professional career.
